I made something
Made with my mom’s cricut machine. She is so proud of me.
Here’s the PNG I made in photoshop if anyone want’s to make their own.
Also- some shaker scoopage!
So highly recommended if you are interested in making your own custom small vinyls/stickers/tshirts/whatever. Need to make either a black and white image, or a .png with a transparent background. The cricut itself has all kinds of wizard settings, but it was already set up for me so YMMV. For small, detailed vinyls like calv here or the text, there is a sticky transfer paper you use to move it as one piece.
Plus, you get to go to the craft store for all your unlicensed illustated urination needs.
Subframe connector install was completed pre catastrophe, but I didnt get a chance to post about it. Special shoutout to Dave at Pro-touring F-body for great customer service, and for high quality parts. More detail on these as far as installation and instructions in a future post.

Imagine someone taking a picture of your child and putting him in this context. No kids? Then imagine someone taking something you love and putting it in this context.
I would be upset if it were my creation and furious if it were a picture of my child.
Even though you bought some of his books and your use probably falls under fair use, that still doesn’t make it right.

It’s funny, Bill Watterson himself hated the idea of licensing his work or it being recreated. That’s why they’ll never be a Calvin and Hobbes movie (one kind of like the newest Peanuts movie, which I would absolutely love to see).
However, it is rumored that he once said “I clearly miscalculated how popular it would be to show Calvin urinating on a Ford logo.” He could’ve fought for and won the rights to sell and profit off these stickers, but never did because it would cost more in legal fees to do so.
I once had a neighbor with one of these, I was young and never quite knew what it stood for. Calvin wasn’t pissing on anything when it came to my neighbors sticker, so I always thought he was just peeing on the truck. Oh to be young again.

Its more of a meta joke to bait people. Normally I think they are pretty dumb. I am just waiting for that one guy to be like “you know pontiac is a gm brand right”
WAS a gm brand. Also ahem, “mark of excellence” my ass.
Bumper stickers are just early memes. I can understand why he doesn’t like them, but as long as I am not profiting off or distributing his work, I don’t feel too bad.

I really dislike the Calvin peeing stickers. Not only are they technically illegal (though not enforced) since they use the intellectual property of Bill Watterson without consent , but they also muddy the reputation of the comic strip. Calvin may have been a bit of a brat, but he was never malicious or a bully.

I made this myself. Its only illegal if you sell or distribute copyrighted content, not if you reproduce it for your own ends. It’s basically a meme. Disparage my humor all you want, its a dumb joke based on an even dumber joke. I don’t feel bad about mischaracterizing an imaginary character. I can make a sticker with the joker or thanos peeing on the gm logo if you would prefer, but it would be even less funny.
